Me: erm,how about the half day off on Monday? it is approved?

Supervisor: Kan saya dah kata ok...

Taking half day off is heaven especially when ur sleep deprived,sumtimes its nice to go back when the roads are empty and ur not cursing every 10 mins cos of a jerk cuts ur line ungracefully.

Unfortunately for today,my half day is spent on arguing with the exam dept.

Me: so we have to activate Id in campus and go home to see the results?

Clerk: yeah

Me: so if I got probs in viewing my results,I have to take another half day?

Clerk: yeah

Me: Kan senang kalo kasi kita activate and collect results at the same venue or just let us view at home without going campus to activate Id? Mcmmane dgn budak2 yg buat Li kat luar lembah klang?

Me: mengapa x terangkan policy tu jelas2 kat homepage..kan senang.. x membebankan pelajar..

It seems that my uni and the govt have the similar way of thinking thing thru.

WANTED

I'm going to start my internship in April at a place near Jln Pahang therefore I'm looking for a place nearby preferably at Sentul/Setapak for a duration of 6 mths. I have tried looking around using classifieds but no luck therefore I'm appealing to u,my readers for a room in the above mentioned area. I would prefer a room to myself.

Intermission

So this is it,the end of the 1st part of my studies and the start of the 2nd part of studies. For 3 yrs,we have been 2gether. Together,we have created sweet and sumtimes bitter memories 2gether. Sometimes, we may not get along well,sometimes we may be at each other throats for things such completing assignments and etc.Whatever we learned in Campus,let it be lessons regarding life or studies,let us take the moral of it or if its a bad thing,let's take it as a caution not to repeat the mistakes of others. And of cos,we must not forget our lecturers who in her/his own way helped us to a better person. Most importantly, pray that we won't be like the JFK Gang.

I would like to thank Seha,Charizard, Mary, Azuan, Atiqah, Amanda, Pris, Syazana,Fiza,Iqbal,Chenda,Lydia,Law,T3 and also Pn Suhana,Pn Azrina, Dr P aka Dragonlady, Mr Kim, Ms Lau, Ms Yas for making my days in the campus a memorable one.

I also would like to apologize if in ANY way I have offended u,I know that sumtimes I often said too much.

Being evil

For those who know me will know that the Evil Quotient in me is insignificant,maybe only 1% if compared to the other aspects of me;Blur me, Wise me, Cranky me and Silent me.

Evil me is an aspect that I reserved for a special few like Anak Raja gang and etc.But me being evil isn't truly evil in sense that I don't go and destroy that person totally but I want them to learn that what they are doing will come back and haunt especially these grup of ppl who are somebody at least in my uni. Most of their victims would just walk away or in the end will be lulled by their sweetness which makes them think that what they do is a good thing.

Maybe in restropect,I shuld go and be Blair,destroy them fully and make sure that they won't dare to show their faces in public..

I really wish that their internship will be a disaster

MySympBios 2011

Hi,I missed u all so much.. 3 days without internet is really a torture. Anyway,most of u might know that I was in Kuantan from 11-13 march for an academic event which is MySympBios 2011 which was held at IIUM (Kuantan).

My frens and I went there by car (yes,another achievement for my car). We left Shah Alam by 6 plus pm,reached Karak by 8+pm and arrived at Kuantan by 1opm. We got lost while finding the dorm (well,the map said that its near IIUM but its actually quite the distance).

There were 3 cars (my uni contingent was 12 ppl strong). We were the 1st to arrive,the 2nd car which contained the majority of female passengers left Shah Alam at 1 am and reached Kuantan by 6 am(They stopped at a R&R for a nap). The last car which to arrive was JFK,left Shah Alam on Sat and arrived by lunchtime. (Note: the event started on Saturday).Yeah,I know very unprofessional till their supervisor need to call them to move their butts.

Anyway, I enjoyed myself tons there despite the antics of my unimates,didn't sleep for a whole nite due to a creaky bed and had a severe headache on Sunday.

The event was an eye-opener cos I learnt tons depsite sleeping thru keynote addresses. I met with a lot of ppl from various Unis,the best and most frenly was from UPM (Teo & Desmond) & Utar (Lisa and the girls,their supervisor was Prof Fan & Say)* & UM (Tony and his fren,Lim,I think).

Who knew that Biomed could be so all-comprising,its like that we know something about everything.

I had my poster presentation on Sat, I had 3 evaluators,one was surprised that my research was dry(I was the only person who did dry),the other was surprised of the results that I get. A UM student criticized my results harshly cos I sort of gave them a bad name( who asked u guys to not to pay attention in class).

On the things that I noticed:

1)In Biomed field,u can't be arrogant or self-centered,u'll miss out a lot of things.

2)Never stay contented with what u have done,many are trying to improve themselves.

3) Networking is a key tool.

4) Love ur research,it might be lame but its ur hard work (yeah,finally realized this)

5) Biomed students is heavy sought after.

6) The standard of technology of a nation is based on the number of researchers it has.

7) If u are willing to work hard,the sky is ur limit.

8) Never judge a book by its cover.

9) U may have the lousiest CGPA but u maybe surprised at where u'll end up,if u continue to persevere.

To my juniors,I strongly recommend u to go for events like this,u'll really learn more things and u'll see what the lecturers are trying to do regardless of how they might show it.Most uni will give a list of titles for FYP and some might have Master student or Phd student in charge of the research which is so different from what MSU do,therefore be proud that ur research is 90% urs.

Move along

The past week has been hard on me,waiting for internship confirmation,waiting for FYP poster presentation, waiting for HIM, waiting for pay,waiting for sympo presenter name list to come out. Too much waiting, makes me EMO.

Oh,before I forget,Sorry J for FFK,will make up to u in the near future.

Anyway, let's update the list of tasks:

1) Uni Sympo: Not selected (yeay)
2) HIM: not saying anything till he sms/calls but maybe....
3) Pay: still not out yet
4) Internship: a got a place de,now waiting for the LETTER
5) FYP poster presentation: I suck,no control of emotions

2nd issue,some of my frens were commenting that I patched up with R (previous post),sori,guys,I don't do that. R saw the emo posts,he called,we chatted,nothing more,nothing less.

internship matters

This is the worst request that u need to fulfill b4 graduating which getting a place for internship. HATE THIS REQUEST and surprisingly this comes from a guy that played games that need to fulfill requests,for example Cityville or even some RPG like FF or Onimusha which sumtimes have stupid requests or even strategy games like RA or C&C. I remember one mission in C&C where the Brotherehood of Nod has tesla tower,to destroy that I sacrificed a battalion of tanks just to get into the front gates.

The thing that I hate is to wait for the approval,I know that guys at HR are busy but seriously,this sucks.

As all know,we need to call the HR after 2 weeks after we send the resume.

1st call: pls call again next week
2nd call: We need ur transcript
3rd call: B was on holiday so we cannot process,pls call next week
4th call: Sorry, we cannot process it since there was a holiday

Imagine that I had applied to 3 companies and all are like this...its like they get satisfied with ppl's frustration and disappointment.

My feelings are like below for the 2 months:

One of the requirements of my FYP is to do a poster presentation so I need to prepare and send it to printers which often would give a cheaper prize if the quantity is high therefore being a good guy,I spread the news and told my uni-mates that the dateline and all.

When the time came for me to send the poster for printing,NOT A SINGLE person send it to me. So I can't print at the original printers cos they want it by bulk. So I drive around Shah Alam, looking for a printing shop and somehow I ended up at a place that I won't go in Shah Alam on regular days. Lucky for me,that shop is owned by one of my "friends" that I met during Sec school days.

We talked about the past and present while negotiating a price for my poster,somehow over 2 cups of coffee and that guy said to me that he is willing to print it for free as a token of the good times we had or someting like that.

And that's how I got a free poster and its all thanks to my uni-mates.

Kage bunshin no jutsu

2 conflicting events happened 2day,one required me to be spectator and the other required me to be a doer. The former is organized by my Uni (my lecturers and my Kohai) while the other is for money.(am still working due to a lot of things to pay off)

Of cos,I picked to attended the latter due to various reasons but mainly cause by money. I'm sure by now a few would say that I'm being selfish for not supporting my kohais but as I said in earlier posts,I'm not an avid fan of my uni. (mmg anak murid derhaka )

The only thing that I regret not joining the Uni event is that I missed seeing one of my lecturers sing(ramai yg memuji).

Life would be so much better if we could split ourselves into a few copies;one for work,one for play,one for social,one for leisure.

The only thing I could say to redeem myself is at least,I'm being honest with myself and those who are around me.

Arguing is no fun

Last nite, I had Japanese for buka and 2gether with the meal, I had some sake. The reason of taking the sake was weak according to the lover but I was having 2 hectic weeks.

In the 1st week, I was busy with FYP poster design.. The damm Publisher2010 doesn't want to cooperate,drag one box,the another box follow, watermark a section, another section also kena. Lucky, 2 frens helped out; 1 with the layout,the other with designing. My supervisor who was supposed to be on maternity leave came back for a while,adding in the confusion.

When the poster came back from the printers, a few words were missing and a few unexplained empty spaces appeared. STRESS giler. The funny part,the poster's background supposed to be blue but somehow it mutated to purple.

The whole week,I spent reading up my FYP,memorizing major parts only to fumble when the lecturer asked," what statistical test are u going to use to compute ur data?" My reply," T-test kot"... I mean why the KOT appeared.

Last nite, while at the sushi restaurant, the bf shown the disapproving look when I ordered sake when I told him that I'm gonna do it beforehand.

Oh yeah, I forget to add that a few idiots kept ruining my day for the whole 2 weeks (previous post). The subjects for this sem requires a lot of groupwork but some thinks that groupwork is to be done at their own leisure.. very selfish peeps...

Most of the time, I need to bash my fists on the wall to avoid bashing the heads of selected ppl on the wall... so i think its ok for me to indulge.

PS: the bottle that I brought home is just to annoy u....

What a week

I was so damm busy with a uni program which lasted from 17th to 19th called Health Science Week also known as Health Science Day to my seniors. It is an event organized bi-yearly by the final year students of my course.

The preparation of the event started around 2 months ago,was busy looking for sponsors,speakers and audience. Unfortunately,my booth group managed to find a sponsor and a speaker je.. Truth to be told,I had found an audience for the talk who was my juniors from my sec sch but since ade org pandai2 potong jalan,we lost the audience. Its simple logic, U won't give help to ppl who u don't know,rite?

My booth group started the deco for the booth on the 16th,rite after breakfasting,we did it till 11 pm and then I went to help my frens in the central committee till around 2 am,reached home around 3 am,slept at 4,woke up at 5 am. U know that ur old when u can't survive the day with 1 hour sleep.

On the 17th, the whole day was great, I lost my voice on that day too. The flow of events was just rite although there were hiccups but it was well-hidden (?). Went back and automatically went into living death mode,waking up only for breakfast and sahur.

On the 18th, I was kinda mad cos it seems that most of my group committee were in MIA mode, I had to cover a few asses and took over a few duties like taking attendance and etc. My booth members were great,they constantly think of things that 2 be sold to make profit.

On the 19th, my group committee organized a treasure hunt. It was smoothly done and many complained that the clues were hard.

Overall,we kick-assed in doing the event,got praises from the lecturers and of cos a few comments from the critics. Datin Jun was unhappy that the CC overruled her decisions regarding the usage of Lecture Halls but do we really care about what she thinks (evil laugh). Besides,MSU is a IPTS so the needs of the students who are the customers must be catered 1st. Another revelation is the Admin side is so fucking similar to the ones we find in the public sector,all need to be pushed hard if not nothing will be done. They are kinda lucky that a fren of mine didn't use whips on them.

Additional comments,we failed in micro-managing,updates were not properly passed down from those in the committee to the participants and some were playing students' politics. In the end of event, we all realized that the real goal of the event is to get marks.

Watching the raindrops fall

Watching the rain drops from my window set a few thoughts in motion,some were about the situations that I went thru in order to get a good results,some were about how easy are the lives of some ppl that I know.

Then, I realised that we really don't know what others are facing in their life,even between best frens, they won't really know what the other is thinking about at times. Let's face it,no matter how good u know a person, the person might still surprise u with some unexpected news or methods of doing things. A person isn't like a drop of rainbow; when sun shines thru a raindrop,we can see the 7 hidden colours not like a person who may still have unknown sides.

Anyway,the probs that I'm facing rite now are related to my uni-mates,sumtimes they can be a real bother especially when they are the sort that when given legs,want thighs. Some are discreet but some are very obvious.

The other prob is I'm a picky person when comes to work,its either I'll give 100% in it or I'll slack in doing it. This will ultimately depend on the type of lecturer that I'm having;the good ones will get good work while the bad ones will get shit.I know it is not a good way of doing things but I have always been a person who will not follow those who don't have deserve my respect.

stupid mentality

I really hate some of the students in my uni. Some don't know how to communicate well, for an instance,a girl in my lab group comes to me and points at 2 sets of data that was collected,then look at me and gave a bewildered look. I was like what does this girl wants or is my data looks wrong to her. Then when I asked her to explain herself,she goes into defensive mode. crazy kan?

2nd story,I'm not showing off when I said that I'm done with my research proposal,its just that my topic is clear cut unlike some who are so hebat till they themselves don't know what their objectives are. I'm just trying to create more time 4 myself.

3rd story,I know that the toilets in the uni are maintained and cleaned by the cleaners but that doesn't mean that u can shit/pee everywhere. Come on lah,u are a degree student not a child in K1. Imagine what those cleaners say behind closed doors.. U can't even flush the toilet after using it... malu lah wei... budak degree fiil mcm nie.... the worst part is this happens in toilets that are often used by Life sciences students....

4th story, went to fetch Rizal from his uni since I have finished all class for the day,had lunch at the famous pizzahut @ Pavilion. Guess what? the service still sucks and the lady manager is still there..... paid and left the food uneaten and ate somewhere near Frangipani instead.

To Sir,with love

A fren of mine came to me and asked for advice with a prob that he thinks he may be having a certain male lecturer in his uni. (for the sake of making it clear,let's name the lecturer,Mr H).

He told me that he got gay vibes from this lecturer,very subtle ones,from the way that Mr H talks and acts in class. Mr H often aims him with questions and touch him (on the arms or shoulders). Mr H always noticed what he does when he is in class and sumtimes Mr H would tegur him in the corridors.My fren even did an experiment where he wore a ring on his ring finger on the left hand to show that he's taken and guess what,Mr H was in a foul mood throughout the lecture.Oh,yeah,their age difference is about 4 yrs.

My advice was to stay clear of this kind of relationship cos its not healthy for both parties,the lecturer might be suspended or fired and the student may find himself in a ugly place but if my fren wanted to pursue,I told him to do so when he has graduated.

Waiting for U to come around

Sigh,2 more weeks to FINALS. I haven't start memorising my notes for the subjects I'm taking this sem. So far,the only subject that I'm ok with is Pharmacology cos I like to take drugs.

Anyway,I realized that I always start studying properly 2 weeks before exams and always burn the midnite oil,the rest of time was spent on outings,yamcha and other stuff. My frens know when my exam period is cos during that time I would not go out (90% of the time anyway).

The thing I hate about exams is the lecturers want us to vomit everything out word by word,sentence by sentence although they insist that understanding of the topic is important,not memorizing it which is a chore for me. I like to use my own words and ideas to explain the concept of things and hate to vomit things out blindly.

Someone,pls rescue me from the pile of notes that is clutter around my bed.

Medical Check up

My uni loves to do things backwards. For an instance,when I applied for my degree,the admin staff told me that the students don't need to do a medical check-up as all the students are living off campus and not in its dormitories.

Last Friday,my lecturer cum mentor told us to get a medical check up done and submit it before 28Th of February. Its really menyusahkan cos most of us have either 2 or 3 sems to go before we graduate. So how if the doctor declared us unfit? Takkan kena berhenti blaja kot.

I'm going to do mine at the Government Hospital cos it will be so much cheaper than doing it private which is going to be on Wednesday (the earliest date). I skimmed the form,I need to do a urine test,blood test,std test,general test and an x-ray. Sien betul.

Anyway,hope I pass all the tests with good results.

PS: Do some1 have a private lab where I could all the tests personally?
