Communication

Hear: to perceive or apprehend by the ear

Listen: to hear something with thoughtful attention

Could you spot the difference between those 2 words? So have u been listening or just hearing when someone talks?

Of course there's a difference. You can't choose to not want to hear something, but you can choose to not listen. Listening is something you have to put your mind and effort to.

You can hear without listening. But you can't listen without hearing. Kinda like how you can talk without speaking.

...if that makes any sense. :P
